Supplementary service – alignment of existing documents in multiple languages
Do you have documents or web pages in multiple languages that you would like to merge into a single translation database (translation memory or TM)? Each document is carefully checked to optimise its readability before being aligned using a special alignment tool. This involves reading in the content so that the German and English sentences, for example, are displayed next to each other in the tool (like in an Excel spreadsheet). An export file is then created, which is subsequently imported into a TM.
This means that your existing documents can be taken into account in subsequent translations. If changes are made to a document (such as a contract), a TM ensures that the changes, however minimal, are highlighted for translation while the other contents remain untouched.
